Whenever I hear the song Taylor Swift wildest dreams, I could only think of how anyone can get so emotionally entangled with someone, that you don’t know what is real and what is fake. Making up romantic scenarios and creating the wildest dreams all in the head.
Desperation, loneliness, and the desire to be with that particular person can lead to making you believe, even when there is nothing. Knowing more about wildest dreams and how they can twist your head and feelings, keep on reading as it’s going to be juicy.
What Are My “Wildest Dreams?”
When people think of having the wildest of dreams, it doesn’t always have to be something raunchy and naughty. These are dreams and not your wild desires. Dreams can be anything as simple as just being with the person you want.
Holding his hand while walking, and falls asleep on his chest while watching a movie. Hearing him laugh at my jokes and catching him staring at me and being with me at my side is something I can only dream of. I don’t even think, he knows that I have feelings for him, which are more than friends.
But it’s not something I can do anything about; his friendship means a lot to me, and what if he doesn’t feel the same about me? What if our friendship breaks after that? What if I never see him again after that? All these “What ifs” are what keep me awake at night.
However, when I am with him, it feels like he knows about my feelings, as he lights up when I am near, how he wants to know about my day, and gives me all the attention even when we are with our friends.
Or is it just me? I am the only one who sees normal things as something else. At least, that is what my friends are saying. Am I losing grip on what is real and what I am making up in my mind? I don’t know, what do you think? Comment down below what you think about my condition.
“Wildest Dreams”: Dreaming of Being With That One Person You Can’t Have
Nothing hurts more than not being able to be with the person you love and have feelings for; that is when the wildest dreams shroud your perception of what is real and what is fake.
I always thought that I had these feelings all alone, as not everyone is as open to speaking about them or rather writing about them. But when I heard Wildest Dreams Taylor’s version, I thought, well, if Taylor Swift has the same feelings as me, that definitely makes me feel heard and not alone.
But if you haven’t heard the song “wildest dreams,” then here it is for you. You can listen to the song for yourself and let’s see if you can understand what she means by the lyrics.
“He said, “Let’s get out of this town
Drive out of the city, away from the crowds”
I thought Heaven can’t help me now
Nothing lasts forever
But this is gonna take me down.”
[Pre-Chorus]“He’s so tall and handsome as hell
He’s so bad, but he does it so well
I can see the end as it begins
My one condition is.”
[Chorus]“Say you’ll remember me
Standing in a nice dress
Staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you’ll see me again
Even if it’s just in your wildest dreams, ah-ah, ha
Wildest dreams, ah-ah, ha.”
[Verse 2]“I said, “No one has to know what we do”
His hands are in my hair, his clothes are in my room
And his voice is a familiar sound
Nothing lasts forever
But this is getting good now.”
[Pre-Chorus]“He’s so tall and handsome as hell
He’s so bad, but he does it so well
And when we’ve had our very last kiss
My last request is.”
[Chorus]“Say you’ll remember me
Standing in a nice dress
Staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you’ll see me again
Even if it’s just in your wildest dreams, ah-ah, ha (ha-ah, ha)
Wildest dreams, ah-ah, ha.”
[Bridge]“You’ll see me in hindsight
Tangled up with you all night
Burning it down
Someday when you leave me
I bet these memories
Follow you around
You’ll see me in hindsight
Tangled up with you all night
Burning (burning) it (it) down (down)
Someday when you leave me
I bet these memories
Follow (follow) you (you) around (follow you around).”
[Chorus]“Say you’ll remember me
Standing in a nice dress
Staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you’ll see me again
Even if it’s just pretend
Say you’ll remember me
Standing in a nice dress
Staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you’ll see me again
Even if it’s just (pretend, just pretend) in your wildest dreams, ah-ah, ha (ah)
In your wildest dreams, ah-ah, ha
Even if it’s just stayed in your wildest dreams, ah-ah, ha
In your wildest dreams, ah-ah, ha.”
A few days ago, I asked a few of my colleagues about their stories of wildest dreams and what it means to them, and here is what they had to say.
“We all have dreams. We dream of having a comfortable life, making money, eating everything in this world without gaining weight, and staying with our loved ones forever and ever. These are all wild dreams. Apart from all these, my wildest dream for a very long time has been to be with the person I loved. Loved and lost.
And even though I wish that I could go back in time and redo all the things that I could have done better, I know as a matter of fact, it is not possible. He is now someone who knows all my secrets, a soulmate who wasn’t meant to be. The only thing that I can hope for now, is that both of us do great in our respective lives. And that is enough. As long as we are happy, it is enough.” – Ankita Tripathy
“Sometimes, I just have various thoughts about my crush. My crush that I can never muster up the courage to express my feelings to. I just see her from a distance and have wild thoughts of what life would be like with her. All the joy, all the emotions, that lust….feels amazing to think about it.
But then I stop daydreaming and come back to this grim reality again, and realize that maybe I’m not the one for her; maybe I’m not good enough; and that she deserves someone better than me. And that’s why I still continue to look at her from a distance, just hoping that she stays happy and smiling forever.” – Debmalya Mukherjee
“For someone who dreams in fragments, I have LOTS of WILDEST DREAMS. And the dreams go like Doctor Strange rummaging around the multiverse for Christine Palmer – his one true love (the LOVE he NEVER HAD). I would wake up and dream about having her pass me my cup of coffee. I would love to be alone with her, in some dark town alley where we’d go only once. Also, I would dream about getting caught up at work. I’m on my toes, dying to rush out because we have a dinner date tonight.
My wildest dream is to have that one Netflix series ( I saved for a weekend marathon) spoilt to me by no other than that one special person I can never have. Once a bad night turns into a bad morning, I’d be late for work, willingly, because I want us to work it out.
I want to come home from work with my head bent towards my feet. She could read me like a beat-up book with no cover on. She won’t ask me a word and hold me as I feel her warmth and smell, eating away all my stress. I would dream of being grateful and happy knowing she’d be here when I fall asleep. And when I’m awake, her face will be the first thing I see.
Wildest dreams? Yeah…” – Shahnawaz Alam
“Wildest dreams…I have one. No, not those nasty ones. I have a dream of living in the mountains and woods. I can live with that special person. There will be a wooden house, two cozy rooms, one small kitchen, one washroom, and only one bed. There will be no internet that can disturb us.
In the mornings, we will visit the nearest village and collect all the essential goods. We will cook, will walk in the woods, will stare at the stars, and sing. And you know what will be the most romantic thing? We will sit beside the fireplace, read her books, and she will fall asleep in my lap.” – Anirban Mallick
Wildest Dreams… The bitter-sweet love story of Richard Burton, and Elizabeth Taylor is always the thought which comes to my mind when I hear this masterpiece. As a vintage lover, the aesthetic of the song, and the short cinema accompanying the melody is always a treat. In spite of the sexual innuendo which would knock everyone’s mind when they hear the term, “wildest dream” my thoughts differ.
For me “wildest dreams” is the hope of a romantic soul that love should remain even if the lover parts. When the relationship is doomed, when we are not “the one” for them, we always hope to be “the one that got away.” The one that is always remembered in special moments, and the one that the wildest dreams never allow to forget.
With time the pain fades, but there is a bittersweet nostalgia. When you hear the melody, “Say you’ll see me again, Even if it’s just in your wildest dreams…” you will always remember that one love who broke your heart just too perfect. – Deepanwita Dey
What Is Your Wildest Dream? (Reddit Edition)

- “I’m 100% straight. Never did anything gay. but I had a dream where I somehow sucked my own dick, and it was weird because it didn’t taste like anything, but I felt it in my mouth. I didn’t feel pleasure or salvia. Idk maybe I didn’t do a good job, or I have a bad dick. Either way, I woke up feeling a bit traumatized and scared, like suddenly the world was much colder. I would’ve curled into a fetal position, but it was too much like my dream. IDK if it’s relevant to the question, but there it is.” – Redrum4344
- “I’ve orgasmed in a dream before and it was heavenly but woke up and nothing was on the sheets surprisingly but then the mediocre dream made a mess…i think the orgasm was from a sex demon tbh. She was a regular human but when i orgasmed i looked next to me and there she was in the mirror a blue looking creature. Some people have more advanced senses in dreams i can taste food personal favorite and feel pain as well. I can write paragraphs on my dreams.” – TheDreamtotembearer
- “I once had a dream where I was a man (I’m a woman irl), having a big organ. In the dream, I was going to have sex with some women, and I got a boner. It was… a weird experience.” – mockinfox
- “I had a dream that I walked into a room where my crush was, she started to say very sexy things about me. Long story short we both fell to the ground (with me being on top) And began making out, And I mean Deep tongue kissing.” – InterestFew7340
- “The other night, I became lucid. I met a slightly older woman and we walked into a barn and laid down. Me on top of her. Her skin was so warm. Almost hot. And the other sensations were almost perfect. But her skin is what got me. I just lay there with her, feeling her skin. So warm and beautiful.” – ChaosSigil
Wrapping Up!
Unlike most dreams, these wildest dreams are something that is hard to achieve and can lead to obsession and an unstable lifestyle. But if your dreams are under control and not harming your personal life then with time you can get your life back together and not obsess over them.
Like Taylor, who wanted some kind of recognition of her feelings from the dedicated person, it hardly happens as most of the time that one person remains unaware of our feelings.
